Hernon Manufacturing Inc. plans to quadruple its 25,000-square-foot plant by the end of 2013. Investing up to $1.4 million in the expansion, the Sanford-based industrial solvents and adhesives company also anticipates hiring about 15 to 20 additional workers at its 4.5-acre headquarters in late 2012. Most of those will work on the production line, but the firm also will hire office workers, equipment assemblers and machinists, and pay about $30,000 to $70,000 for these jobs. A design for the new building has been completed, but Hernon Manufacturing has not hired a contractor for the project yet.
